There’s an interesting claim in the Kobe Bryant helicopter crash story.

Berge Zobayan, a personal representative for the man piloting the aircraft, says in a court filing that the passengers are to blame. It’s one of 13 defenses used against a lawsuit filed by Vanessa Bryant’s attorneys.

Bryant’s lawsuit alleges that late pilot Ara Zobayan should have taken more precaution. E! News reports Zobayan’s answer doesn’t explicitly spell out how the passengers were ‘negligent’ but does say that they ‘knew the risks.’

The January crash killed Kobe, his 13-year-old daughter, and all seven others aboard.
