Former Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams announced Tuesday that she is endorsing Joe Biden for President. The voting rights advocate said in a statement “Vice President Biden is the leader America needs – a leader who will restore dignity, competence and compassion to the Oval Office.”

Abrams also added “While marginalized communities struggle…and people of color face disproportionate consequences of COVID-19, Joe Biden will take no one for granted.” Abrams narrowly lost the gubernatorial race in Georgia to Brian Kemp in 2018 and has been discussed as Biden’s possible VP running mate.
