A grandmother has been arrested after her 6-year-old grandson was found locked and tied up inside a shed in Dallas.

Police visited the home on a tip and found the boy alone inside the pitch-black shed, his hands tied behind his back with shoelaces. His grandmother, 53-year-old Esmerelda Lira, and her boyfriend, 64-year-old Jose Balderas, were both arrested.

Balderas told police the boy had been locked in the shed for two weeks. The boy and his two siblings, ages 4 and 7, are now in foster care.
