A demonstration calling for an end to Fresno’s coronavirus restrictions got a little scary for council member Miguel Arias, who says a group of protestors attempted to break into his home.

The incident occurred late Tuesday afternoon, says Arias, who’s been a staunch supporter of California’s lockdown orders. At least one protestor claims he was assaulted by Arias during the attempt, Fresno’s ABC30 reports.

As a result of the attempted invasion, officers have been sent out to guard the homes of other city leaders, a rep for the Fresno Police Department confirms. No charges have been filed in the Arias incident, the rep says.
