Researchers Developing Face Mask That Lights up When Coronavirus is Detected

Researchers at Harvard and M.I.T. have spent the last six years working on sensors placed inside masks to detect viruses like Ebola and Zika. Now they’re working on tweaking the sensors to detect Coronavirus.

Business Insider says the sensors are embedded into masks so that if an infected person coughs, sneezes or even breathes on the mask, that sensor will light up to signal Coronavirus’ presence.

Researchers hope the masks will be able to counter flaws associated with screening methods like temperature checks.
