New York Tourist Arrested After Posting Hawaiian Beach Photos

The law is pretty clear: anyone arriving in Hawaii from outside the state must go into quarantine for two weeks.

So when Tarique Peters posted photos from the beach just hours after stepping off his flight from New York, authorities acted swiftly.

Those who saw his snaps turned in the 23-year-old, and cops arrested him after confirming with hotel staff that Peters had been out and about in O’ahu, even taking public transportation.

Peters was booked Friday and his bail has been set at $4,000. He could be looking at a $5,000 fine and/or a year imprisonment, notes a self-isolation agreement signed by those coming to Hawaii during this pandemic.
