The head of the World Health Organization is promising to launch an independent review of its handling of the coronavirus outbreak.

WHO Director-General Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said Monday he’ll start the review at the “earliest appropriate moment” hoping to improve pandemic response at both a national and global level.

Tedros also warned that countries that lift lockdown restrictions too fact “run a real risk of handicapping their own recovery”.
