Twitter and Square Make Juneteenth a Company Holiday

In another move to show support for black Americans Twitter and Square CEO Jack Dorsey has declared that Juneteenth will “forevermore” be a company holiday.

In a statement, Dorsey said the day would be “a day of celebration, education, and connection.”

Dorsey also said that he plans to celebrate and make company holidays of other emancipations of countries and regions around the world where his companies have a footprint.

Juneteenth, which is celebrated on June 19, is the day many celebrate the end of slavery in the United States.
