Nearly 300 CVS workers in the Chicago area will be affected by mass layoffs, the company announced earlier this month. CVS laying off 5000 workers across the country. Workers are being cut from the Chicago, Buffalo Grove and Northbrook offices . The first layoffs take effect on October 21st. Crain’s reports the layoffs are part of an overall plan by the company to reduce expenses. Earlier this year CVS acquired Chicago based Oak street health for 10.6 billion dollars. Its a primary care physician network.
