Chicago police stations no longer housing migrants

For the first time in almost 8 months there are no asylum seekers living in Chicago police district buildings but there are still almost 200 living at O’hare as they await housing assignments. Mayor Johnson pledged to move them to shelters before the start of winter which officially begins next week. After plans for migrant base camps in Brighton Park and other sites fell through the city is now working with the Chicago Archdiocese to set up shelters in brick and mortar buildings. Nearly 14,000 migrants are currently being housed at 27 city-run shelters.
