Episode 97: Who You Gonna Call? A Chicagoan

On this episode of Show and Tell with Andrea Darlas: it’s another show full of Chicago arts, music, and even a little ghost busting. All of our guests or events have roots in Chicago. We kick off the show with my conversation with the great Carrie Coon, who plays Callie in Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire. Carrie talks about her career, her time in Chicago, and the film, which is out in theaters now. After that, we hear from Dee Alexander, one of Chicago’s treasured jazz vocalists, about “Too Hot for Words: The Music of Billie Holiday.” This one night only event will happen April 10 at City Winery. Next, something a little different: rock and roll. Jordan Tyler, front man of The Bites, tells us all about having one of the best albums of 2023, growing up in the Chicago suburbs, and more. And finally, Michael Green, co-creative director of the Chicago Humanities Spring Festival, dazzles us with a taste of the many events that are happening now through June 13 to celebrate the arts.
