Lots of pushback over downsizing Chicago’s Pride Parade

In April it was announced this years parade would be smaller, which means entries would be capped at 125 groups, That’s down 35% from last year. The parade would also start an hour earlier at 11 a.m. Now a group of community members including Parade organizers and members of the Mayor’s Advisory Council on LGBTQ+ Affairs are calling on Mayor Johnson to return the parade to its original capacity. The group agreed with the time change. The Pride Parade is scheduled for June 30th.
