The Cubs and White Sox will each have just one representative at this year’s Midsummer Classic.
For the Sox, Garrett Crochet received his first All-Star nod in his first full season as a starter. The 25-year old leads the majors with 146 strikeouts compared to just 23 walks while holding a 3.08 ERA.
And upstart rookie Shota Imanaga was announced as the lone Cubs representative. Imanaga has a 7-2 record while carrying a 3.16 ERA on the year. He’s the first Cubs rookie to make the All-Star Game since Kris Bryant in 2015.
The All-Star Game will take place at Globe Life Stadium in Arlington, Texas on July 16th.
