Congressmen Call For Ouster of Secret Service Head

At the Illinois Republican Delegate breakfast in Milwaukee on Thursday morning, Representative Darin LaHood (R – 16th District), who serves on the House Intelligence Committee, called for Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle to step down.

“I think it’s unacceptable, the actions they didn’t take to secure the perimeter for President Trump,” LaHood said.

Cheatle was spotted at the RNC on Wednesday night and deflected questions from the media. She reportedly said it was neither the “time or place” to discuss the matter.

LaHood added, “Secret Service has one job to do, that’s to protect the entity they’re in charge of protecting. That didn’t happen.”

Fellow Congressman, Representative Mike Bost (R – 12th District) also called for Cheatle’s ouster. “She needs to go. She failed.” He added “We also need to know that in the future that never happens again.”
