Monday was Day One of the Illinois Democratic Delegate Breakfast in downtown Chicago. The mornings featured speakers were optimistic of a win in November, including Gov. JB Pritzker. “If we fight hard enough, in seventy-eight days we’ll defeat Donald Trump and make real progress for working families.”

Senator Tammy Duckworth outlined the goals of the week of the convention. “The goal of this week is to send a message of what happens when you have progressive policies and what happens when you have policies that support working families, when you invest in education, when you bring down the cost of prescription drugs. What happens when Democrats are in charge is we get to move forward.”

Other speakers Monday morning included Minnesota First Lady Gwen Walz, Activist Terry O’Brien and New Jersey Senator Cory Booker.

Illinois Delegates were noticeably fired up in their support of Vice President Kamala Harris and running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz. President Biden is expected to speak Monday evening at the DNC at the United Center.
