Night Three of the DNC was a star studded feature. Actress Mindy Kaling served as host and Stevie Wonder, Maren Morris, Sheila E. and John Legend provided the music. Morris performed “Better Than We Found it” and said that she is breaking away from country music due to its inability to tackle racism and misogyny. Wonder spoke, sang his classic “Higher Ground” and advocated “courage over complacency.” Legend and Sheila E. cranked up the volume with a rendition of Prince’s “Purple Rain.” Saturday Night Live’s Keenan Thompson walked onstage with an oversized “Project 2025” book and interacted with guests via Zoom.
Tuesday night saw R&B singer Patti LaBelle, rappers Lil Jon and Common perform. Pink is expected to headline on Thursday night, her first appearance at a national convention.
