DNC Day 3: Bill Clinton Praises Biden and Harris, Brings Up Trump’s Age

Former President Bill Clinton appeared at Wednesday night’s Democratic National Convention to thunderous applause. He said that it was “good to see the Obama’s and President Joe Biden.” Clinton praised Biden’s tenure and thanked him for his “courage, compassion and his class.” Clinton was at the United Center on Monday evening but did not appear in public.

He also said he believed his wife, Hillary, gave a “great speech too.” Hillary Clinton spoke on Monday evening.

He went on to bring up former President Donald Trump’s age, saying that “I’m too old to gild the lily. The only personal vanity I want to assert is that I am still younger than Donald Trump.” He turns 78 next week and is two months younger than Trump.

Clinton hoped for a more inclusive future with the election of Kamala Harris and Tim Walz. He praised her past achievements and vowed that “she will work really hard.”

Always the personality and going off his prepared script, Clinton lamented that as president, “Kamala will beat my record as a McDonald’s employee.” Both worked at the fast food chain in their youth.
