Freshman enrollment at the University of Illinois over 9000 for the fall semester with a total number of students on the Champaign campus at 59,238. There are over 37 thousand undergraduate students and over 20 thousand graduate students. The freshman class includes over 6000 students from Illinois and more than 1300 students from 43 states and territories along with more than1200 international students from 48 countries. More than 1 in 5 new students are a first generation college student.
