Last Weekend For Maxwell Street Market

The Maxwell Street Market is steeped in Chicago history, and you have one last opportunity to visit this year.

Established in the 1840’s, the market was a haven for unique vendors, musicians and local food. The market, known as the birthplace of Chicago Blues and the Maxwell Street Polish sausage. It was the scene for Jake and Elwood Blues in The Blues Brothers movie. Relocated due to the expansion of the University of Illinois campus in 1994, this year, the market returned to its original home on Maxwell Street, between Halsted Street and Union Avenue.

This Sunday, October 27th, is the last day this year to experience the eclectic mix of music, foods and finds, including handmade crafts, resale housewares, clothing, and much more.

The Maxwell Street Market opens at 9:00am and is free to attend.
