The annual Christkindlmarket opens today for the holiday season.

The 28th annual Christmas event, bringing food, music and gifts in a German style market bazaar opens at Daley Plaza and it’s third year at RiverEdge Park in Aurora.

Visitors can enjoy food stalls, with pretzels, schnitzel, strudel and plenty of sweet treats. Soft drinks and adult beverages such as imported beer and German hot spiced wine, served in a souvenir boot mug.

Over 55 vendors will offer products from around the world in the unique shopping experience.

For the first time, receptions can be booked inside the heated Timber Tent at RiverEdge Park.

The Chicago market is located in Daley Plaza at 50 W. Washington Street in downtown Chicago.

The Aurora market is located at RiverEdge Park at 360 N. Broadway in downtown Aurora.
