(CHICAGO) Here on the day the Republican tax reform plan gets final approval, Governor Bruce Rauner is finally taking a position on it.
Rauner’s position is to take both sides of the issue.
“I think the bill has good elements and bad elements to it. I personally wish it did more for the middle class, the middle-income earners. I don’t think it does quite enough. I think the good part of it is we’re gonna have faster economic growth and more job creation all across the United States. I think this is a very pro-growth bill.”
But he argued the lack of a full deduction for state and local taxes makes it all the more important to reduce property and income taxes as he’s been advocating.
