It’s become a Christmas tradition on the Big John and Ramblin’ Ray show on WLS-AM. Friday, they welcome The Oswego High School A Capella Choirm under the direction of Frank Tiera, Director of Choral/Vocal Activities.
As we prepared for this year’s visit, Frank wrote, “I am bringing the Oswego HS A Cappella Choir. That group has three other groups in it. (“Stay Tuned” – vocal jazz, “Barber-Cued” – a barbershop quartet, and “6 Silly Geese” – our comedy guys group. Our style of holiday concert only requires one song from more than 30 different acts. We do it as a “living CD” without applause between acts with all the groups having performed within the confines of an hour and a half. We do that four times over two days to sell-out crowds. I am utilizing these other groups to make the sufficient performance times for the four slots you wrote about. (Ramblin’) Ray (Stevens) knows how the concert goes at OHS. He had a daughter in the group.”
We say – what a great way to finish the week and start the Christmas holiday weekend.
