(CHICAGO) Governor Rauner is talking about what he wants to do to make schools safer.
Under fire for vetoing the gun dealer licensing bill, Rauner was in Springfield taking a position against a Trump idea, “I do not agree with the view that teachers should be armed. I do believe we should have highly trained, highly skilled armed security personnel at schools. That I support.”
Rauner was talking up some new committees to try to come up with more school safety ideas and co-operate with neighboring states to stem the flow of illegal guns into illinois.
Meantime, the state senate sent the governor bills that say you’ve got to be 21 to buy an assault weapon and wait 72 hours to get it.
