CPS Sex scandal: Alleged victim blames Mayor Emanuel

By Bill Cameron, WLS-AM News

(CHICAGO)  In the Chicago Public Schools sex abuse scandal, two alleged victims of sexual predators gave emotional testimony and one of them blamed Mayor Emanuel.

In a legislative hearing here in Chicago, Morgan, an alleged victim of former teacher Sam Boardy tearfully recalled being sexually assaulted twice.

Then she brought up Mayor Emanuel for some accountability, saying “What kind of system puts their student victims on trial? What kind of mayor allows sexual predators to skip background checks to serve as security guards, coaches and teachers? How is that not the utmost concern of the leaders of this city?”

Morgan added, “In a recent interview the mayor called upon the city for suggestions to stop sex crimes in our schools unable to come up with any on his own.”

Mayor Emanuel has said all adults apologize to the victims but the bigger issue is what we will do about it.
