New U.S. $20 Bill Delayed

A redesign of our $20 bill, which was supposed to be released next year, has been postponed until 2028, according to Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin.

The bill was expected to feature anti-slavery activist Harriet Tubman, but Mnuchin said the focus right now is on improving the banknote’s security features, not the imagery.

Harriett Tubman was born into slavery in the 1820s and her photo was due to replace that of former President Andrew Jackson.
