Residents of Virginia Beach are outraged after partygoers at a Memorial Day event left 10 tons of trash behind on the beach.

Pictures and videos of a trash-strewn beach went viral after the annual “Floatopia” event, prompting locals to lash out on social media.

One resident called it “Total disrespect for our bay” while another said “We can do better than this!”

On Tuesday, the city said the trash had all been cleaned up, thanking Beach workers and local volunteers for their efforts.
