7-Year-Old With Rare Disease Needs Specific Donor

7-year-old Asaya Bullock of Parkchester, NY needs a bone marrow transplant, but due to the nature of his rare disease, the donation can’t come from just anyone.

Bullock was born with IPEX syndrome, a rare and life-threatening autoimmune disease, and the only cure is a bone marrow transplant.

But the donor must be the same ethnicity as Bullock, who is part African-American and part Caribbean. They’re hoping someone with a similar ancestry will come forward to donate.

Asaya is listed at BeTheMatch.org , a website where people can pre-register for life-saving donations.
