Has this been a record month so far for tornadoes here in the U.S.? Almost. Experts say May is already the fourth worst month for tornadoes ever recorded.

More than 500 tornadoes have been reported so far and as of last night, the threat continued with watches and warnings posted in half-a-dozen states from Oklahoma to New Jersey.

Back-to-back storms have hammered the nation’s midsection this week, leaving a trail of destruction, including 1 death, from at least 53 twisters that may have touched down across 8 states.
