Murder Suspect Takes Off After Getting Cop to Loosen his Handcuffs

Apparently, one of the oldest tricks in the book still works. A murder suspect in Virginia complained that his handcuffs were too tight — and then managed to escape when a sheriff’s deputy loosened them.

Although Raleigh resident George Knisley was recaptured just a few minutes later, he managed to enjoy one last taste of freedom as he was being walked into the the Raleigh detention center at about 1:45 Thursday afternoon. After the arresting deputy unlocked his handcuffs, the 41-year-old broke free and ran down a ramp to an adjacent street, his arrest report reveals. Unfortunately for Knisley, a bystander saw what was going on and grabbed him.

Knisley, who’s being investigated for murder, was booked on a number of charges, including robbery with a dangerous weapon, resisting a public officer, possession of a stolen firearm and felony eluding arrest.
