Last week, U.S. Marshals found and arrested an Iowa man who had evaded police for nearly eight years.

Authorities found 62-year-old Michael Strain on a ‘remote ranch’ on a Native American reservation in Montana. Investigators say he was squatting on the property.

Strain had been in hiding since 2011, when he was indicted on weapons charges, which landed him on the ATF’s top 15 Most Wanted list. He has declared himself a “sovereign citizen” and told officers they had no jurisdiction to arrest him.
