It’s official, Army General Mark Milley will be the new chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff as of October 1st.

Milley was easily confirmed by the Senate yesterday 89-to-1 and has been the Army chief of staff.

Milley will succeed outgoing Joint Chiefs Chairman Joseph Dunford to become the top military adviser to the President.
