Believe it or not, a two-inch blade and five forestry workers saved the life of Colin Dowler after an encounter with a grizzly bear in Canada.

Dowler was mountain biking on a logging road in a backcountry region of British Columbia north of Vancouver and that’s when he encountered a grizzly bear.

After the bear “swatted him” a few times, he grabbed his pocket knife and went for his neck, at that point the bear lumbered back where he came from.
