Brazil’s President Jair Bolsonaro said Tuesday that his country will continue to reject a $20 million offer from G-7 countries to fight the Amazon Rainforest fires unless French President Emmanuel Macron apologizes and takes back his words against him.
Bolsonaro said in a statement “First of all, Macron must withdraw his insults. He called me a liar.” Macron has been critical of the Brazilian government’s efforts to save the rainforest. Bolsonaro says the fires stem from environmentalists and left-wing governments out to get him.
