A student at College of Southern Nevada was arrested after police found a rifle and 2,000 rounds of ammo in his car, which was parked on campus.

The student, 27-year-old Shayn Striegel, claims he simply forgot the gun and ammunition were in his car when he drove onto the campus, which bans all firearms.

Striegel is now behind bars facing weapons charges.
