Whirlpool is recalling more than 26,000 glass cooktops, after reports of the appliances turning on all by themselves.

The company has received 133 reports of the cooktops spontaneously turning on, causing minor burns or damage in at least 16 cases.

The recall applies to cooktops manufactured between 2016 and 2019 under the brand names Whirlpool, KitchenAid, and JennAir. Owners should contact Whirlpool about a free replacement, and in the meantime turn it off at the circuit breaker.
