In a bit of a blow to Prime Minister Boris Johnson, British lawmakers are moving to prevent the UK from leaving the European Union without a Brexit deal.

An alliance of lawmakers that included members from Johnson’s own Conservative party approved a motion on Tuesday that will allow them to control the parliamentary agenda.

This essentially means they can introduce a measure today that would order Johnson to ask for a Brexit extension if he can’t secure a deal to leave the EU before Halloween.
