Kevin Hart to Sue Barracuda Builder

Nearly a month after comedian Kevin Hart sustained back injuries in a violent car wreck involving his modified 1970 Plymouth Barracuda, he’s back home from back surgery and plans to sue the company that built the Barracuda.

Yahoo says that Hart’s planning a lawsuit against Speedkore, which powered the classic with a 720-horsepower, 6.4 liter Hemi V8 with a Whipple supercharger but, according to Hart’s lawyers, failed to equip the car with safety features like a roll cage, airbags, and five-point harness seat belts.

Car experts can’t even believe that Speedkore built such a beast without adding safety equipment, even if Hart didn’t request the safety features that could have prevented his injuries. Hart’s incident is already causing the California Highway Patrol to suggest that lawmakers need to make changes to how classic cars are modified.
