An 87-year-old Florida woman is accused of killing her disabled grandson because she feared no one would be able to take care of him after she died.

Police say Lillian Parks gave a fatal drug overdose to her 30-year-old grandson Joel Parks, who was incapable of taking care of himself and split time between his grandmother’s and a group home.

Investigators are waiting on toxicology reports to see what killed Joel Parks. They called it a “difficult case” but say the grandmother will likely be charged with second-degree murder.
