Sen. Bernie Sanders has unveiled his plan for an “Income Inequality Tax” that would target corporations who pay their executives far more than their workers.

Under Sanders’ plan, a company would face heavier tax rates if it pays its CEO more than 50 times the salary of a median worker.

Last year, the average S&P 500 company paid its CEO 287 times more than a median employee.

Sanders said he wanted to “Send a message to corporate America: If you do not end your greed and corruption, we will end it for you”
