Earlier this month, a Milwaukee police officer pulled over a mother for not having her kids properly restrained in the vehicle. But rather than just hand out a ticket, he helped her fix the situation.

Officer Kevin Zimmerman let Andrella “Lashae” Jackson off a warning, then went to Walmart to grab two car seats and installed them for the family.

Jackson explained to CNN affiliate WTMJ that she couldn’t afford the safety devices, noting, “With bills coming up and winter coming up, I have to get coats and boots and shoes for my kids.”

Taking to Facebook, the Milwaukee PD thanked the 12-year veteran officer “for going the extra mile and going above and beyond your call of duty.”
