Cops: 2 Brothers Saved Meth Equipment from Fire, Left Grandma to Die

Two brothers in New York are facing manslaughter charges after they chose to save their meth equipment instead of their grandma from a fire.

Jarrett and Justin Gause were also charged with multiple reckless endangerment charges in connection with the incident, which happened back in May, police say. After the fire broke out in the home they shared with their grandmother, 82-year-old Gladys Ann Willow, the Gauses went back inside to remove the equipment they used to produce methamphetamine, prosecutors say. Then, instead of calling the fire department, they left to buy cigarettes, leaving Willow to die.

There’s no word on what started the fire.
