Space tourism is still a relatively new concept but those specializing in the field say the opportunities are great and the market for it is already huge.

Virgin Galactic CEO George Whitesides told CNBC that “more people are going to want to go to space than either of us can bring in terms of service.”

So, what is Whiteside expecting? Even with tickets priced at $250,000 per person, he feels there is a market for about 2 million space tourists.
