Booming Antarctic ice could lead to ice age

Researchers say rapidly increasing Antarctic sea ice levels could lead to another ice age.

Fox News reports computer simulations suggest the booming sea ice levels, thought to be caused by upside-down rivers of warm ocean water, could lead to a significant change in ocean circulation which, in turn, could then cause a reverse greenhouse effect.

That reverse greenhouse effect could then lead to more carbon dioxide in the ocean and less in the air… and that could mean global cooling.

Right now, however, researchers don’t yet know what has caused previous ice ages. They say it could be more closely tied to changes in earth’s orbit.
