Just last week the Federal Aviation Administration announced it would not approve the 737 Max’s return to service before 2020.

That has prompted Boeing officials to consider cutting or even halting the production of its grounded aircraft.

The board of directors is holding a regular two-day meeting in Chicago and the company could reportedly make an announcement on production plans as soon as late today.
