Russia will appeal the four-year doping sanctions placed by the World Anti-Doping Agency. The sanctions from deleting files and faking evidence to cover up doping amongst athletes.

Russia’s plan is to start the appeal process within 10-15 days, sending the case to the Court of Arbitration for Sport. Russia’s Vladimir Putin has called the sanctions “unlike anything in history of humankind.”

While Russia is allowed to participate as “neutral” during the 2020 Olympics, U.S. athletes have talked protesting at the podiums in Tokyo if they win medals next summer.
