Is It Ever OK to Work Out When You’re Sick?

Jillian Michaels is now answering questions for a new advice column.

One person asked her if it is ever OK to work out when you’re sick.

She said “no.”

Jillian said when you are sick your body is already under stress.

Working out is another form of stress.

When you are sick your body is already stressed by infection and needs all its resources to focus on fighting that infection.

She also said not to get down on yourself because you are not working out. Instead, it is a time to be loving and nurturing toward yourself.

More than likely you are not eating much when you are sick so you probably won’t have much, if any, weight gain while sick.
