Andrew Yang’s presidential campaign closed out 2019 in a big way, raising $16.5 million during the fourth quarter – his best three-month period to date.

While the average donation comes in around $30, and 75 percent are under $200, the campaign revealed that they took in their largest single-day haul on Tuesday, receiving $1.3 million.

Those figures put Yang in the top five-fundraisers among the Democrat contenders, reports The New York Times . However, he still needs a boost in the polls to qualify for this month’s debates.

“At every turn in this race Andrew Yang continues to exceed expectations, whether it’s in terms of grass-roots fund-raising, making the debates, early-state polling or the ability to draw big crowds,” said his campaign chief, Nick Ryan.
