UPS Adds 10K Electric, Self-Driving Vehicles to Fleet

Apparently, there isn’t much future for drivers in the future of UPS.

The delivery company on Wednesday announced it’s made a deal with the U.K.-based company arrival that will add 10,000 electric and self-driving vehicles to its U.S. fleet. In exchange, UPS made an investment in the start-up company, officials revealed.

“UPS continues to build an integrated fleet of electric vehicles, combined with innovative, large-scale fleet charging technology,” says UPS official Juan Perez. “As mega-trends like population growth, urban migration, and e-commerce continue to accelerate, we recognize the need to work with partners around the world to solve both road congestion and pollution challenges for our customers and the communities we serve.”
