A New York woman is recovering after she was slashed in the face by a bus passenger who was angry because her child had thrown up.

The incident occurred late Tuesday afternoon on an MTA bus in Brooklyn, according to the NYPD. The 31-year-old victim was on the bus with her children when one of them became sick and vomited, forcing MTA officials to put the bus out of commission, police say. Apparently, this didn’t sit well with another woman, who slashed the woman’s face with a knife as she left the bus.

Other passengers reported seeing the attacker leave the scene in a black Toyota Camry. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital, where her condition was unknown on Wednesday.
