Coronavirus: More Americans quarantined

As of Wednesday, the new coronavirus has claimed 492 lives – mostly in mainland China. More than 24,000 others remain infected.

Wisconsin health officials have confirmed their state’s first case – making 12 confirmed in the U.S.

CBS News reports about 350 evacuees arrived on two planes in California – one landed at Travis Air Force Base in Northern California. The other landed at Marine Corps Air Station Miramar in Southern California. Passengers will be quarantined for up to two weeks. A National Guard camp near Ashland, Nebraska, is also being readied as a quarantine site.

One quarantined passenger on a cruise ship docked in Japan says officials have restricted food and water as passengers on board are confined to their rooms. An American is one of 10 confirmed passengers who’ve tested positive.
